National Park Plitvice Lakes

Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, so as early as on April 8th 1949 it was declared the first national park in Croatia.

The process of sedation, which form travertine barriers and create lakes, represents a unique universal value due to which Plitvice Lakes received international recognition on November 26th 1979, by inscribing on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
